Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies Undergraduate Essay and Research Writing Contest

Overview

This scholarship supports undergraduate student research at IUPUI.

Criteria

Open to any undergraduate student enrolled at IUPUI during the past year. A student who has graduated may submit work, provided the paper was completed while the author was a student at IUPUI.

Submissions must address women, Women’s Studies, gender, or topics of special concern to women. Additionally, they must have been written for an IUPUI undergraduate class from January 2018 to present. The selection committee will evaluate feminist scholarship, coherence, creativity, organization, originality, and overall writing quality.

Students may submit up to two (2) papers. Papers should be 10 to 25 pages, with standardized citation, if outside sources are used, and should be typed and double-spaced. The author’s name should NOT appear in the submitted essay but should be included in a separate cover sheet.

The cover sheet should state the student’s name, address, email, and telephone number, course number and name for which the essay was originally written, department, instructor name, and semester taken, title of the work submitted.
