Carlin Award for Outstanding Graduate Student Paper in Empirical Economics

Overview

The Carlin Award for an Outstanding Graduate Student Paper in Empirical Economics was created to honor Professor Emeritus of Economics, Paul Carlin. Dr. Carlin's research examined many areas from the academic wage structure by gender to finding a significant link between motor vehicle dependence and obesity in Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries. As former Department Chair, Dr. Carlin made many contributions to the Department of Economics during his time at IUPUI, especially in the areas of human resources, labor economics and experimental economics.

Selection Criteria

Recipient will be enrolled in a graduate program in the Department of Economics within the School of Liberal Arts. Recipients shall have written an outstanding paper in the area of empirical economics.
