With sadness, the Max Kade Center shares the passing of Dr. Ruth Marion Reichmann on January 6. Dr. Reichmann was an integral part of the Hoosier German-American community, serving on the board of Indiana German Heritage Society, as its president, and as its newsletter editor for many years. She provided incredible support to the Max Kade Center over the years and funded numerous initiatives to support the teaching of, research on, and outreach for German and German-American Studies at IUPUI, including funding MKC conferences and library support. She also taught in our IUPUI German Program and connected with scores of students over the years. She will be terribly missed by all who knew her. There will be a celebration of her life this spring, and we will share more information as we have it.

I am so sorry to see this sad news. I met Ruth first time in 1984. We organized a youth exchange program that lastet for several years. Ruth and her husband Eberhard were very supportive and we became friends.
Both are gone now and I miss them so much.
