Did you know Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at IU’s School of Liberal Arts participates in the national organization, Triota? It is both an academic club and honor society focused on encouraging and supporting scholarship and excellence.

Some recent projects have included celebrating IUPUI alumni who have contributed to the IUPUI community, working on an IUPUI panel celebrating women’s suffrage, supporting a student-led effort to restore period products to the IUPUI Campus Center, and participating in a Women4Change conference.

Sound interesting? We welcome ALL students at the club level! We have meetings approximately once a month and love connecting with new members. Requirements for membership in the honors society are listed in the application form. There are also opportunities for leadership.

Club Level

If you are interested in joining Triota Club, but do not yet meet the requirements below, please fill out this form and indicate your interest in the club member level. All are welcome and you can still apply for honors status when you have met the requirements. Membership at the club level can be applied for at any time. There is no deadline.

Honor Society Requirements

You can apply for Triota honors status if

  • You are at least a second-semester freshman
  • You have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Have taken or are currently enrolled in at least 6 credit hours in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies (cross-listed courses count!)

Complete the online application form and attach an unofficial copy of your recent transcript.
