Ivan Maisel of ESPN.com accepted the Bert McGrane Award at the annual awards breakfast of the Football Writers Association of America on Monday morning. in Scottsdale, Ariz.

The highest honor by the FWAA, the award is presented in recognition of contributions to the association and to college football and is recognized in the College Football Hall of Fame. The McGrane Award has been presented by the FWAA since 1974, and has recognized some of the giants of the sports journalism industry. Maisel, a past president of the FWAA, was presented by past president Tony Barnhart of the SEC Network.
