Scholarships and Awards

The Museum Studies Program supports students to the fullest extent possible through a combination of merit-based Liberal Arts tuition scholarships, museum partner-funded paid internships (typically for second-year graduate students), campus-funded Community Engagement Associates, and faculty research grants. Students are also encouraged to explore any external funding sources, financial aid, or work study options. Details for department awards appear below.

Conference Travel Fellowship

Supported by donations to the Museum Studies Fund of the IU Foundation and other funds, the IUPUI Museum Studies Program awards fellowships to support graduate student travel to professional conferences relevant to the student’s program of study.

Larry J. Zimmerman Student Research Fund

Undergraduate or graduate students who are studying Anthropology, Museum Studies, or American Indian Studies within the IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI and are conducting research in anthropology, museum studies, indigenous studies, or cultural heritage studies are eligible. Expenditures may include, but are not limited to, costs associated with fieldwork and/or presenting research at conferences.

Greek Goddess Scholarship

This scholarship supports one student pursuing a degree or certificate in Museum Studies in the School of Liberal Arts who demonstrates academic excellence and an interest in expanding their worldview/experience through their liberal arts studies.
