As a French student, you will be eligible for a variety of scholarships and awards. Whether supporting research in the field, celebrating academic achievement, or studying abroad, the awards below are given annually in the Spring. Apply every year.

Undergraduate Scholarships

The Beaudry Summer Scholarship Fund for French and Francophone Studies

This scholarship, named for Professor Emeritus James G. Beaudry, provides scholarship support for an undergraduate student to participate in an IU-accredited study abroad program in a French-speaking country.

Bersier World Languages Scholarship 

Created by Professor Emerita Gabrielle Bersier, this scholarship supports an undergraduate student who majoring in the Department of World Languages and Cultures, or Individualized Major Program.

Greek Goddess Scholarship in French

This fund is to support a scholarship for one student pursuing a degree or certificate in French in the School of Liberal Arts.

Margaret A. Cook Academic Achievement Award for French

This award honors a student who has demonstrated excellence in the study of the French language, culture, literature, and linguistics.

This Scholarship was established to honor Marius J. Faure and supports a student majoring in French Language and Literature.

School of Liberal Arts Scholarships

Each year we have several students accepted to the highly selective Teaching Assistant Program in France (TAPIF) through the Education Affairs office of the French Embassy to teach in a school in France or one of its overseas départements such as French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Réunion.
