Starting October 2022, students in the Arabic Program at IUPUI will be participating in Virtual Tabadul, a virtual exchange program funded by the Stevens Initiative and US Department of State. Virtual Tabadul provides community building and language practice exchange opportunities to students in virtual reality spaces. Following a fully task-based curriculum, US students studying Arabic are paired with a university student in the MENA region. They meet each week to carry out language-learning tasks for the purpose of improving their Arabic and English foreign language proficiency. The tasks that students complete also aim to serve their community. Students access the virtual reality spaces using their cellular devices via Google Cardboards. Stay tuned for more
