Drs. Maria Brann and Jennifer Bute recently attended the grand opening of the Institute of Reproductive Grief Care in San Diego, CA, to present their research about effective communication when faced with pregnancy loss and how to assess prolonged grief.

The goal of the Institute, which was founded by Life Perspectives, a non-political, non-religious global leader in education, research, expertise, and support after reproductive loss, is to educate health care professionals, caregivers, and community leaders to provide “the gold standard of care” for individuals grieving following a pregnancy loss. During the two-day event, Drs. Brann and Bute were able to share their expertise with more than 200 health care professionals, mental health clinicians, and scholars from 13 states and at least 3 countries.
