Congratulations! Edward Curtis, William M. and Gail M. Plater Chair of the Liberal Arts and Professor of Religious Studies, received two Emmy awards at the annual awards banquet of the Central Great Lakes Chapter of the National Association of Television Arts & Sciences. Curtis received both Emmys for his work as on “Arab Indianapolis: A Hidden History” (Fisher Productions, 2022), a documentary that Indiana University and IUPUI helped to produce. Initially broadcast on WFYI, the film was shown on every PBS affiliate in Indiana, and streams for free nationally on PBS. Curtis took home awards for executive producer in the Historical Documentary category and for Writer, which he shared with Rebecca Fisher. The documentary’s editor, Cory Fisher, also won in his category.
