ICIC specializes in designing site- and situation-specific intercultural and workplace-language training programs. ICIC’s model of communicative interaction and negotiation is particularly effective in native speaker/non-native speaker encounters. Such encounters are increasingly common in today’s world of global business and industry. The two-way communication model of ICIC equips both parties with effective communication strategies of mutual understanding.
The goals of the intercultural programs designed and offered by ICIC are to make participants more effective in cross-cultural and multicultural situations. Development of these skills enables participants to be aware of and appreciate their own culture and its communicative styles as well as those of others.
Each training program is designed from a needs analysis, including questionnaires, interviews, and observations. Participants are introduced to the goals of communication in various workplace settings so they can improve their professional and personal effectiveness.
For international professionals, specific English language instruction is available for terms, structures, and accent modification techniques—all of which enable more effective interactions and communication in work situations. Contact ICIC for further information or assessments.
