About the Program:
The IU School of Liberal Arts Peer Mentoring Program at IUPUI is a year-long experience for students to be matched with a peer mentor. Each spring, peer mentors are matched with peer mentees for the fall semester.
Apply early, as there are limited spaces available for the 2021-2022 academic year:
- Application deadline for mentors: Sunday, March 21, 2021.
- Application deadline for mentees: Friday, August 6, 2021.
Program participation benefits:
Be a Part of the Liberal Arts Community: Make connections with your peers, who will connect you with faculty, staff, and student organizations in the school related to your individual interests and career aspirations. Attend events offered through the School of Liberal Arts with your peer mentor.
Define Your Purpose, Skills and Leadership Role(s): Identify and make a plan to engage in activities and events in the school and the IUPUI campus community related to your major(s) and interest areas—including but not limited to study abroad, Liberal Arts student organizations, internships—that will help you develop marketable skills necessary post-graduation.
Plan Your Path to Graduation: Construct your short- and long-term academic and career goals, and locate and implement use of academic and financial resources to assist you with obtaining those goals—including services offered through Liberal Arts’ academic advisors, career development staff members and the school’s scholarship manager. Additionally, obtain referrals to faculty mentors based on your academic and career interests.
