The minor in American Studies (AMST) offers you the opportunity to understand the American experience in a broader context than is usually possible through the study of a single discipline. More specifically, it provides you with courses that focus on matters that have been traditionally at issue in the study of American civilization and culture.
The American Studies minor asks you to think seriously about issues of American life, and places you in discussion with communities in and around Indianapolis. This intersection of local culture and national life gives you opportunities to work through difficult questions about living and working in the United States.
