Climates of Inequality: Stories of Environmental Justice

The School of Liberal Arts, Museum Studies program at IUPUI is one of 22 Universities nationwide with many community partnerships exploring the roots of climate and environmental inequality as part of the Humanities Action Lab (HAL)’s Climates of Inequality: Stories of Environmental Justice. The goal is to explore the history of environmental harm in Indianapolis, promote public dialogue, and encourage people to take action for a more just and sustainable future for all.

With the help of students, faculty, the Kheprw Institute, and other community partners, Museum Studies has also developed companion exhibits. The exhibits have public programs that will amplify the Indianapolis story and create ways for diverse audiences to connect to the history of environmental harm and the disproportional impact on marginalized communities.
