IU Brand & Style
In 2013, Indiana University launched a system-wide brand and related materials. For information, resources, templates, and up-to-date brand changes, please visit brand.iu.edu.
Marketing & Communication Requests
To protect the IU brand and ensure we’re presenting a united front in the marketplace, all marketing and communications efforts must be submitted for approval. Items requiring review include ads (print and digital), videos, radio commercials, websites, trade booths, and all other marketing and/or communications pieces. You must also get approval from IU Communications before you hire marketing and communication consultants or freelancers.
Signature and Logo Policies
The School of Liberal Arts follows the standards established by Indiana University’s visual identity policies (by IU Communications). These standards established the common signatures for all Indiana University entities and prohibit the use of unit logos. All units of the School of Liberal Arts will follow both School and University standards and will not develop or use identifiers (logos) that are not in compliance or that create a representation that appears to create a status independent of the School of Liberal Arts, IUPUI or Indiana University.
All approved marketing lockups (i.e. logos) for the School of Liberal Arts, its offices, programs and departments, are available in Box. These are NOT TO BE USED BY student groups.
Please review the following style guide for information regarding the proper use of the varying identifiers (logos) from IUPUI, the School of Liberal Arts, and IU: Liberal Arts Signatures and Color Palette Style Guide
The formal name of the school is the: IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI.
Departments, centers, and programs should be identified as the: Department of [Insert Name] in the IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI.
Faculty and staff should be identified as: [Insert Name], professor of political science in the IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI or [discipline] professor [Insert Name] of the IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI.
A common email signature style is TO BE USED BY ALL Liberal Arts faculty and staff. It provides key information to email recipients and provides faculty and staff with an IU-created tool for use in e-correspondence. Use the IU email signature generator to create your own!
