Rodger Johnson is the Visiting Lecturer of Practice in Public Relations and the faculty advisor for the department’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America. He joined the IUPUI faculty in August, 2018.
Johnson has worked in various communication roles in financial planning, medical device manufacturing, and author publicity. Among his clients, he worked with the award-winning Hollywood director, writer, and comedian, the late Carl Reiner.
In addition to his teaching role, Mr. Johnson is completing doctorate studies in health communication and takes a communication complex theoretical perspective to his research in vaccine hesitancy.
Johnson is an active member of the National Communication Association, where he holds the position of Chair for the Communication as a Social Construction Division. He is a Fellow with the CMM Institute, an active member of the Public Relations Society of America, and an associate researcher with the Global Health Communication Center at IUPUI.
