You’ll gain an understanding of human life; the ways that it is experienced. The field of anthropology bridges the sciences and humanities, making it a powerful foundation for investigating the world and tackling the challenges around you.
As an anthropology student, you will have many opportunities to develop your research and hone your skills. You’ll get hands-on experience in the fields of physical anthropology and archaeology. You can engage in community outreach, service, and/or organizing. Indianapolis is home to many organizations, giving you broad access to conduct research and to collaborate with local communities.

“Upon graduating with my MA, I began a career as an archaeologist with Cardno, now Stantec, where I still work. My time in the Applied Anthropology MA program was invaluable as it allowed me to develop my research and technical skills and explore my particular interests in the field of archaeology.
