Minor in Anthropology

Expand your understanding by conducting archaeological investigation of past and present human material culture; ethnographic study of contemporary cultures around the world and in the United States; research into human evolution and the origins of human physical diversity; and analysis concerning the origins, structure, and social use of language.

Your training may include an overview of anthropological inquiry, an appreciation of ethnic and cultural behavior, and a deeper understanding of a selected conceptual area in anthropology.

For a minor in anthropology, you will need to complete:

  • the credit hour requirements for the baccalaureate degree in effect when you were admitted to your home school
  • 15 credit hours with a minimum grade of C in each course
Two core courses are required for a minor.

How to enroll

Contact both the Department of Anthropology (located in CA 410) and the School Liberal Arts Student Affairs Office (located in CA 401) to complete the necessary paperwork to officially declare the minor.
