This scholarship supports undergraduate students recognized by Anthropology faculty as outstanding juniors or seniors. One recipient will be chosen each Spring and the award will be disbursed the next Fall semester, unless the student is graduating before then.

Manuela Reynolds Award

This award supports undergraduate students in Anthropology who wish to present research at or attend a conference or symposium. The conference should be in the student's area of interest in the field of Anthropology. The award will help cover related expenses for travel and/or conference costs.

Criteria: Students should submit a statement of purpose along with documentation of the conference. The statement should specify what/if the student will present and what sessions the student will attend during the conference. All applications should be sent to Dr. Wendy Vogt at with Manuela Reynolds Award in the subject line.

The Anthropology Department honors an outstanding undergraduate student, usually a senior, whose academic record reflects both, scholastic excellence and intellectual breadth. The award is faculty selected.

Greek Goddess Scholarship in Anthropology

This fund supports a scholarship for one undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Anthropology in the School of Liberal Arts. Candidates must demonstrate academic excellence and an interest in expanding thier worldview/experience through their liberal arts studies. Preference will be given to a student with financial need.

Criteria: 30 credits completed, including ANTH-A103 and A104. 3.0 GPA minimum overall, with a 3.5 GPA minimum in Anthropology; Anthropology major; Submit an application with a 750 word essay, typed and double-spaced, answering the following questions: 1) Why did you decide to major in Anthropology and what do you hope to acheive through your studies within this field?  2) How do you think Anthropology as a discipline can contribute to enhancing our understanding of human diversity and why is this important in today's world?  Also, include a seperate 250 word essay, typed and double-spaced, responding to the following prompt: This scholarship preferences students with financial need. Please explain how receipt of this scholarship will assist you in completing your Anthropology degree in a timely fashion.
