How to Apply

Entering freshmen:

  1. Obtain an IUPUI admissions application form and a FAFSA.
  2. Complete the combined IU School of Liberal Arts on-line application (at https://db.liberalarts.iupui.edu/sams/CASlogin.asp) by February. 1.

    In step 2: Be sure to check the Sam Masarachia Scholarship box.

    In step 3: include your completed essay by uploading the essay file. (Essay question: "How do you view the conditions and interests of workers, seniors, and/or communities in today's society? How do you see yourself making a difference in the representation of these groups?") Indicate the 2 people who will be submitting your letters of recommendation. Submit your high school transcript (a scanned copy is sufficient for the scholarship application). Read and complete all fields on each screen.
  3. Apply and be accepted for admission to IUPUI (remember to allow 4-6 weeks for processing).
  4. Submit the FAFSA in February to ensure early processing by March 1st.
  5. Have your high school send a transcript and have your SAT or ACT scores forwarded to the Scholarship Office with other application materials by the deadline.


Continuing students:

  1. Submit a FAFSA, as above, and the combined IU School of Liberal Arts on-line application (at https://db.liberalarts.iupui.edu/sams/CASlogin.asp) by February. 1.

  2. Submit a copy of your Onestart transcript and transcripts of any other universities you have attended.
