Centers & Projects

With missions ranging from research to service to outreach, the centers and projects of the School of Liberal Arts provide a variety of resources for students, faculty, and community members.

  • Center for Economic Education

    A part of a nationwide network and affiliated with the National Council on Economic Education, the Center provides training, materials and consulting assistance for thousands of Indiana educators to help enhance the economic literacy of citizens of central Indiana.

  • Center on Philanthropy

    The Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University is a leading academic center dedicated to increasing the understanding of philanthropy and improving its practice through research, teaching, public service and public affairs.

  • Center for the Study of Religion & American Culture

    The Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture is a research and public outreach institute devoted to the promotion of the understanding of the relation between religion and other features of American culture. (An IUPUI Signature Center)

  • Geography Educators Network of Indiana (GENI)

    The Geography Educators' Network of Indiana, part of an international outreach network via the National Geographic Society and the National Council for Geographic Education, equips educators and students with distinctive resources, connections, and teaching concepts.

  • Indiana Center for Intercultural Communication (ICIC)

    The Indiana Center for Intercultural Communication (ICIC) is a university-based research and service organization created in 1998 to enhance links between the city of Indianapolis, the state of Indiana, and cultures/nations throughout the world.

  • Institute for American Thought

    The Institute is a research facility on American thought and culture with an internationally acclaimed concentration of resources and scholarship.

  • Institute for Research on Social Issues

    A social research center with special emphasis on international public health and focus on translational research (An IUPUI Signature Center)

  • Max Kade German American Center

    The Max Kade Center supports German American Studies through research, teaching, and service.

  • National Council on Public History

    The National Council on Public History (NCPH) is a membership association located in the School of Liberal Arts and dedicated to making the past useful in the present and to encouraging collaboration between historians and their publics.

  • The Polis Center

    The Polis Center works with communities in Indiana and beyond to develop and apply knowledge, to build collaborations, and to find innovative solutions to common problems.

  • Spanish Language Resource Center

    A cooperative effort between IUPUI and the Education Office of the Embassy of Spain, the Center enhances the teaching of the Spanish language and culture by providing teaching resources and information on grants and special programs for those teaching and studying the Spanish language and Hispanic cultures.

  • Writing Center

    The University Writing Center provides IUPUI undergraduate and graduate students, faculty, and staff with assistance with all types of composition and writing projects.
