The American Philosophy track of the M.A. in Philosophy is designed to make optimum use of key strengths of the IUPUI Campus. The presence of the Institute has led to the accumulation of extensive resources in American philosophy.

The program is highly distinctive, with respect to both its curriculum and its resources. The curriculum for each concentration reflects the unique faculty and resource profile at IUPUI, and is further distinguished by a special focus. The track in American philosophy offers an approach to classical American philosophy and pragmatism that is sympathetic to mainstream analytic philosophy, and provides the most comprehensive program for studying the work of the philosophical giant Charles S. Peirce available anywhere in the world.
