Featured Center: The New Oxford Shakespeare

The New Oxford Shakespeare Project

The New Oxford Shakespeare Project, a research project commissioned by Oxford University Press, centers new analysis of William Shakespeare’s plays in the IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI. Building on previous studies and examining performances of the plays, the New Oxford Shakespeare Project is creating a Shakespeare edition in multiple media formats for the twenty-first century.

Institute for American Thought

The Institute for American Thought is a unique research facility bringing to IUPUI and to Central Indiana an internationally acclaimed concentration of resources and scholarship that focuses on fundamental strongholds of American thought and culture.

The Institute unites the teaching faculty, editing specialists, and research holdings of the Peirce Edition Project, the Santayana Edition, the Frederick Douglass Papers, and the Center for Ray Bradbury Studies. It has related academic programs in American Studies, Professional Editing, and American philosophy, and is home to the Max Kade German-American Center. The Institute is structured around a public research center that supports the work of its academic programs and scholarly editions while providing a singular resource for students and scholars from Indiana and worldwide.


Featured Center: The Center for the Study of Religiion and American Culture

The Center for the Study of Religiion and American Culture (CSRAC)

The Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture is a research and public outreach institute devoted to the promotion of the understanding of the relation between religion and other features of American culture. Established in 1989, the Center is based in the IU School of Liberal Arts at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Now with forty research fellows, the Center for the Study of Religion and American Culture is considered the premier research institute in the nation working in American religious studies.
