E450 Capstone Seminar Senior Seminar in English is the capstone course for English majors. In this course you will examine how the work you have done as English majors has prepared you for your future. You will have opportunities to consider three areas in particular: your future career; your future as a learner, whether in graduate school or in other forms of lifelong learning; and your future as a citizen. The course is both retrospective and prospective, as you reflect on what you have accomplished in relation to its contribution to your future. Providing technological support for your examination of both past and future will be a special customized pilot version of the IUPUI student electronic portfolio. You will be able to work with your own goals for becoming an English major as well as with goals of the English Department and the Principles of Undergraduate Learning. Your portfolios will be developed independently, but you will collaborate as a class to share your collective insights on the value and role of your learning for your life.

Note:  For a complete listing of courses with days and times, refer to the IUPUI Schedule of Classes. These course descriptions are meant as a general guide to aid in your course selection; syllabi, textbooks, and requirements are given on the first day of class. In some cases, an instructor’s name is given, and that means the description that follows applies when that instructor teaches the course.
