Professor Hook’s research interests include intellectual property law, the emerging field of legal informatics, electronic discovery, legal technology, professional ethics and issues related to the privacy and security of legal and health information.

Professor Hook is a member of the American Intellectual Property Law Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the International Legal Technology Association (ILTA) and the American Association for State and Local History. She is on the Editorial Boards for the AIPLA Quarterly Journal and Res Gestae, a member of the Advisory Committee for the International Legal Technology Standards Organization (ILTSO) and a member of the Board of Governors of the Organization of Legal Professionals (OLP). Professor Hook is the project director for a microfinance project in Calnali, Mexico, funded by the Rotary Club of Indianapolis and the IUPUI BiCCHEC Signature Center.
