Indiana Foreign Language Educator of the Year Award(University Level)from the Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association, 1994
Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award (University Level) from the Indiana Chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French, 1994. Outstanding Advisor, School of Liberal Arts, 1996 and 1999.


Studies in medieval French textual studies, Arthurian romance literature, Old French hagiographical studies, contemporary French culture,
and in teaching for cultural proficiency.
Co-editor, La France à l'aube du XXIe siècle/France at the Dawn of the Twenty-First Century (Summa Publications, 2000)and France in the Twenty-First Century: New Perspectives (Summa, 2010).


To the profession, promoting the teaching of second language studies nationally, in the state and in the community;member of the Commission on Cultural Competence of the American Association of Teachers of French, presenting papers and publishing on contemporary French culture;
supporting foreign language study programs throughout Indiana University.
To the University, have been President Pro Tempore of the IUPUI Faculty Council, Vice-President of IUPUI Faculty Council, member of the University Faculty Council, and other faculty governance activities in Liberal Arts, at IUPUI, and in Indiana University.
Secretary of the East Central District Association of Phi Beta Kappa, and past president and current vice-president of the Alpha Association of Indiana, Phi Beta Kappa.
