Matthew Hume, B.A., is ICIC’s Graduate Research Assistant for the 2016–2017 academic year. Mr. Hume holds an undergraduate degree in music from Yale University and pursued graduate work at Columbia Teachers College in the field of TESOL. In addition to his music studies at Yale, Mr. Hume engaged in studies of sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, and historical linguistics. He has taught EFL at the elementary school level in South Korea, and has tutored adult English language learners in New York and Indianapolis. Mr. Hume’s academic interests include second language acquisition (SLA) and sociocultural linguistics. He is currently a graduate student in the TESOL Certificate program at IU School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI.
