Academic Interests

History of early modern France, philanthropy, European popular and material culture, European and comparative urbanhistory, religion and mentalities, and history of printing, the book trade, and magic. Current Research Project: "The Hospice of Humanity:Beaune's Hotel-Dieu and the Cultural History of Burgundian Philanthropy, 1450-1850."
