The Department of Journalism and Public Relations launched the Jim Brown Interview Series this week, in honor and appreciation of Brown, who served as executive associate dean of journalism at IUPUI for 28 years.

Each month of the school year, a student in the department will interview an alumnus via Zoom. The goal of the series is to help current students connect with and learn from alumni, and to give the interviewer an additional highlight to their resume or reel.

First up, senior Nicole Reitz, co-editor of the Campus Citizen, interviewed Sarah Bahr, B.A.J. ’18, who writes regularly for the New York Times. The conversation covered many topics, including freelancing; fitting work, school, life, and sleep into the 24 hours in the day; and advice to students entering the job market. Check out the interview here.
