Bio

Biography

Vidhura Tennekoon joined the Department of Economics in 2014. His primary research focus has been on measurement error in microeconomic data, maternal and child health and health policy but his research interests expand to demography, development economics and inter-disciplinary research. He has published in Health Economics, Applied Economics, Economic Letters, Economic Analysis & Policy, Review of Development Economics and Nicotine & Tobacco Research, among several other peer reviewed journals. He has also published several articles in The Conversation.

Vidhura earned his BSc degree in Engineering from the University of Peradeniya and an MBA from the University of Colombo in Sri Lanka where he is originally from. He earned an MSc degree in Economics and Econometrics with Distinction from the University of Nottingham, UK. During 2008 to 2012, he attended Washington State University and received a PhD in economics.

Before joining IUPUI, Vidhura worked at the Departments of Economics of the University of Oklahoma and Eastern Washington University where he taught several undergraduate and graduate economics courses. He also has professional experience as a central banker.
