Department of Anthropology

Anthropology is the study of humanity through the application of biology, cultural studies, archaeology, linguistics, and other social sciences. A broadly based discipline, anthropology focuses on a vast range of topics in four main subfields: Physical (Biological) Anthropology, Cultural Anthropology, Archaeology, and Linguistic Anthropology. The Department of Anthropology in the School of Liberal Arts has research and study interests that include human osteology, historical archaeology, urban anthropology, social movements, gender and culture, ethnicity, migration, diasporic cultures, and much more.
